Puppy Plus Training Program
Meet our Trainers
Jenny
Jenny has always had a passion for animals, especially dogs. In her over 40 years of life, she has never not had a dog of her very own. Her natural compassion and nurturing personality have helped in loving and training puppies all the way to a finished masterpiece and best friend. Jenny is a trained yoga instructor as well as a trauma informed yoga teacher. This training has taught her many skills in the yoga world, but has also enhanced her knowledge, patience and “flexibility” in the world of puppies. Jory and Jenny have 3 kids who have also helped and even titled some of our dogs in competitions. Training dogs is definitely a family affair, therefore your pup will be used to multiple people taking part in their training. The biggest thing to take from any training program is CONSISTENCY!
Jory
Jory was raised with German Shorthaired pointers as a child. At the age of 14 he became frustrated with his dog’s lack of obedience due to little training, then high expectations. At the age of 14 he ordered a dog training kit from Cabela’s after purchasing a puppy. It had a whistle, a rope, a dummy, scent, and a book that was perfect to teach a trainer how to train an obedient puppy. He had no idea how training this puppy consistently every day for short periods of time would develop one of the best trained dogs around. This passion exploded and he soon found himself using similar methods to train and show Arabian horses.
Jenny and Jory as a team love taking young puppies to teach them potty training, crate training, through basic training into advanced work. They specialize in retriever hunt test and field trial work. They have trained dogs that have achieved their Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter, Master Hunter, derby placements in field trials including first and second places, a Qualified All Age, pointing lab titles, and completed the basics on a puppy up to the age of two in which he went on with another trainer to get a 4XGRCH and later be in the Hall of Fame. Jory is a AKC Judge for Hunt Tests as well. He has recently attended in Montana a 4-day dog training seminar with Pat Burns (one of the Greats in the retriever field trials). Jenny and Jory have found the key to achieving dogs reaching their optimized top ability is providing puppies from a young age with socialization, structure, love, and grading training to a “just right challenge” in order for each puppy to love the game of training with rewards. Jenny has found that these same methods work for husbands as well. Jory and Jenny have a passion and love for puppy training. They use evidence-based research to help stimulate the puppies neurological and physical development in order to achieve each puppy’s full potential. They start puppies at a few days old using early neurological stimulation to optimizing the appropriate stimulation at the puppy’s important stages of life.
Utah Goldendoodles | Utah Sheepadoodles - Puppy Plus Training Program
Between Jory and Jenny there are over 30 years combined in training and raising well behaved and eventually titled dogs. We will take your precious little pup through the basics. Our 2-3 week proven method has worked not only for our dogs, but we will help create and train this new addition to be a perfect little addition to your family. This young stage is probably the most important stage in their life. Showing puppies who they are and what behaviors bring them better rewards/attention will shape their growing minds. Training at this young age will also instigate a natural intelligence reliance over their instinctual behavior. Our goal is to provide a safe, positive approach to new skills which will instill a lifelong confidence in your pup. Graduates will learn the following commands:
2 Week Puppy Program | $600
“No” - Setting Expectations
“Sit” (which also means “stay”)
Name Recall
Introduce “Here”
Introductory to leash manners
Introductory to “Place”
Socialization in public settings such as sporting events, stores, kids and other pets.
Grooming Introduction (Continued from what the puppy has already been doing for the first 8 weeks)
Reward System: work on fun with retrieving items as a reward
We will also be working on “crate” training which helps the puppy get “potty trained”. It is a natural instinct for dogs to not want to “mess” in their living quarters. This crate training will entail taking the pup out every hour on the hour to a designated spot to do it’s “business” and after they have successfully relieved themselves, will get rewarded to help instill this new, very important skill. Crate training will also allow them to get used to having a safe place that is their special home. Another skill learned from crate training is their ability to be quiet in their kennel, such as no barking or whining.
3 Week Program | $850
Will continue to reinforce the above 2 week agenda
Introduce “Down”
“Kennel”
“Head down”
Advanced socialization in public places as well as walking on a lead with manners
We will also try to create and instill the beginning of “manners” as far as being invited in
and out of a doorway as well as not jumping on people.
We will continue to reinforce the about 2/3 week programs and add more:
4 Week Program | $1135
Shake/Knuckles/High Five
Name Recall
Leash Manners Continued with non verbal sit command
Here/Place Obedience
Break
Grooming/Bathing Obedience
